Dog training
with understanding

The Pawer of Love dog training offers kind, hands off dog training where you can learn to improve the bond with your dog in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Who I Am...

Zsuzsa with Daisy, her rescued Jack Russell cross, in a green meadow.

My name is Zsuzsa and I have a vast amount of experience of working with dogs as well as with people.

I am a qualified Dog Behaviour Problem Counsellor and hold a Foundation Degree in Canine Behaviour and Training at Bishop Burton College, accredited by the University of Hull.

I have been teaching owners in a class environment since 2010.

I hold a Professional Instructor Skills and Management Certificate, a Common Canine Behaviour Problems Certificate and a Diploma in Canine Behaviour and Training. If interested, following this link you can have a look at all my dog training related certificates.

I am a qualified teacher with 10 years of experience in teaching children, young adults and adults. I hold a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults from the University of Cambridge and a Teacher Training Degree.

I live with my rescued Jack Russell cross. Although she had her challenges at the beginning, she helped me to improve my handling skills as well as my knowledge about anxiety based canine behaviour.

What I Believe In...

Zsuzsa walking Daisy, her rescued Jack Russell cross. The lead is loose.

The training methods I use are based on positive reinforcement and my goal is to help to form a partnership between owners and their dog.

Positive is not permissive.

It means to let the dog make mistakes without the fear of punishment and to encourage them to learn a new behaviour through understanding and respect.

I do not use any equipment that can cause fear or pain in the dog and I do not allow them in my class.

Fear and pain decrease the dog's ability to learn, induce avoidance or aggressive behaviour and can cause physical injury.

Reward based methods are more successful than those based on punishment.

I offer 10% discount from classes or 1-2-1 consultations for owners who adopted their dog from a shelter.

Group classes

Do you want to teach your dog to do the behaviours you like without him being told?

Do you want to teach your dog to think for himself and make the right choice?

Join one of my obedience classes and I will show you how.

You will learn how to teach your dog emergency wait (stopping your dog in motion), 'leave it', recall, body check and bonding exercises.

I run puppy/beginner classes, and recall classes. No age limit.

The classes have structured class plan and limited places to maximum 5 dogs.

One to One training

Do you want to teach your dog a different behaviour to what he is doing now in the comfort of your home?

Do you feel embarrased or anxious about his behaviour?

I offer one to one training and behaviour consultations in your home if you have a training issue you would like to work on, or if the place or time of the classes are not convenient.

I also offer puppy consultation.

Get teaching your puppy a new behaviour right for the first time and they will remember it for the rest of their life. Let me show you how. The consultation is tailored to your and your puppy's need.

Dog Walking

Would you like a dog walker who understand your dog's needs and behaviour take your dog for a walk?

Do you have to leave your dog alone for longer periods of time and is it distressing you and your dog?

Dogs are social animals and many are stressed when left alone for too long. Stress and boredom may lead to destructive behaviours, excessive vocalization and can greatly affect their health.

Can you not find as much time as you want to train your dog? Would you like a dog walker to exercise and train your dog at the same time?

I offer dog walking which can be either a normal walk or a training walk.

Training walk is tailored to your and your dog's need and can include loose lead walking or recall.

Canine Enrichment / Dog Walking

Are you looking for something different from the usual dog walk or puppy visit while you are at work?

Canine enrichment is a great alternative or addition to dog walking. It provides your dog mental stimulation through training and games in your home while you are at work.

Tailored to suit your and your dog's need.

Puppy Visit

Do you want someone to let your puppy out to go to the toilet and have some cuddle time with while you are at work?

This service is suitable for people who want someone to spend some time with their dog, feed them and play with them. I can also offer this service for a dog recovering from an operation.

If you feel you need more information about any area of service I offer, please have a look at my media section. The videos were made to give you an insight into my training methods and to give you an idea what your dog can achieve and learn in my classes.

I am fully insured.
